The PROYECTOR Festival will take place from 11 to 22 September 2019 in a dozen venues in Madrid. The curators of this edition will be shown throughout the year in other cities in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, France, Colombia, Peru, Morocco …
The program includes both the artists chosen by convocation and those invited directly by the own festival: national and international key figures who have the ability to constantly redefine the limits of video art that began in the 60s of the twentieth century. All this through a sample of video installations (single channel, multichannel, interactive), interventions and projections in private and public spaces, without forgetting the socio-cultural impact that involves projecting on the street.
As news of this new edition we will bet on works created for the festival itself or adapted site specific for the spaces that will host them. For this reason we have reached agreements with Conde Duque, El Instante Fundación, Medialab Prado and Extensión AVAM so that their spaces are receptive and dynamic centers of these works. We also highlight the collaboration with the INELCOM Collection under the curator by Javier Quilis and the advisor of Vicente Todolí that will open its doors for more than 30 audiovisual pieces. And with the exhibitions of CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo and the work borrow us by the collector Teresa Sapey, jury of this year.
In addition we will have several outstanding professionals related to the Southeast coming from North Africa, Greece, India, Pakistan, Japan and Taiwan.
We have the commitment to professionalize the sector, give more and new opportunities to our artists, create links with institutions, curators and collectors.
It is expected the visit of some 30,000 visits and some 600,000 interactions in RRSS.
PROYECTOR is a point of encounter, of public and political debate, of contention, of citizen empowerment through video art.
