Artist and curator

Cristobal Catalan is a well-known creative director, interactive media researcher and film director. Cristobal’s focus on digital and creative technologies, concepts, stories and visual aesthetics has won him collaborations with esteemed art organisations such as the English National Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The Royal Photographic Society, Somerset House, Rambert and Acrojou Circus. His diverse commissions include projects with MAC and Swarovski, as well as collaborations with international celebrities such as choreographer Tamara Rojo, fine artist Duggie Fields, renowned dancers Yonah Acosta and Daria Klimentova, singers Jessie J, James Bay, George Ezra, Passenger, as well as World Dance winners and Britain’s Got Talent finalists Flawless.

Cristobal is interested in collaborating on projects that combine creativity with the theme of mental health. Additionally, he is a visiting lecturer, a film festival judge, an organizer of significant cultural festivals, and he has chaired media research for health symposiums and curated various art programs.

In addition to providing advice on digital media and interactive technology, Cristobal is also a Board Member for the charity Fertile Ground and is the founder of the VR Arts & Sciences Experimentation Collective. His work has been screened and exhibited widely in academic, art and commercial contexts including MOMA, BBC, Tenderpixel Soho Gallery and Sky Arts Channel. His work has also been selected for numerous international film festivals including London Soho Rushes Film, Festival of Cinematic Arts and the London Spanish Film Festival.
