Bárbara Fluxá

Lives and works between Madrid, Salamanca and Asturias.

Multidisciplinary artist, Doctor of Fine Arts from the Complutense University, and researcher and teacher in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Salamanca. She specialises in new strategies and contemporary artistic practices around the systemic environmental crisis and the current problems between humanity, technology and nature. She belongs to the research group ‘Artistic practices and new contemporary forms of knowledge’ (588-UCM) and collaborates with ‘Climatologies of the Planet and Consciousness’ (690-UCM). She is currently a research member of the R + D + i Project: Inte<2MASCULINE> of art in the technosphere of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain (HAR2017-86608-P, MINECO. 2018-2021).

She has an extensive artistic career due to her participation in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as in both national and international artistic production projects. Her work is exhibited in museums, institutions and cultural foundations, both private and public. Among the latest research and creation grants received, the most significant are the Aid in Visual Arts (2017) from the DG Cultural Promotion of the Community of Madrid, and the Leonardo Grant for Cultural Creators and Researchers 2017-18 (Plastic Arts Area) from the BBVA Foundation.
