La Foto

The Photograph is a video-action: an attempt to return a gesture captured in a World War II photograph to an existence as an action, to resurrect it from its static state as a still image. The action is a study of a single movement and an inner exploration of its motivations, much in the way gestures are sometimes explored as an exercise in dramatic art. The video is also a story of that search and what its meanings might be on both a personal and more universal plane.
