Cámara oscura

Using a large French army’s tent, Magiae Naturalis develops a huge immersive optical device.

Inside the tent, images are formed using two different ways. Lens images and pinhole image are combined.

The space is divided into two rooms. In the first one, a simple lens device with different focal lengths projects images on a surface. Some cameras obscura depict the outside landscape in a pictorialist mode. Visitors can explore and interact with the device.

Second room is a huge pinhole camera without lens. Through different holes, a reversed image is projected. The camera generates an almost natural image so simply and poetics. The visitor modifying the size of the pinhole can experiment changes in the characteristics of the image.

The images inside can be shooting with cameras and mobile devices.
