Expanded Stratigraphy

Stratigraphy is the study and interpretation, as well as the identification, description and sequencing both vertically and horizontally of the different elements that form strata; it is also concerned with their mapping and correlation, determining the order and timing of events in a given geological time in Earth’s history.

Expanded Stratigraphy explores how social and geological strata are intertwined in a reality that cuts across diverse economic systems that modify the environmental and cultural fabric in similar ways. Through the video installation, an approach is proposed in which different senses take centre stage to generate an experience between life and destruction.
