NTEMPORÁNEA CONDEDUQUE, under municipal management, is one of Madrid’s major cultural centers, dedicated to presenting, supporting, and disseminating the culture of our time in all its forms and disciplines through an open and diverse program.

Starting this season, CONTEMPORÁNEA CONDEDUQUE reclaims the old motto of the royal guards who once occupied this emblematic early-18th-century building, still inscribed on its walls: Solvit formidine terras, which can be translated as “To free the earth from fear.” In uncertain times such as these, perhaps culture is precisely what can save us from horror and clear pathways toward hope.

Under the central theme Future/No Future, the 2025–2026 season of CONTEMPORÁNEA CONDEDUQUE invites its audience to a collective reflection—through art, literature, science, and thought—on the great dilemmas of our time. Performances, talks, exhibitions, dialogues, and lectures will seek to unravel the relationships between past, present, and future, the validity of utopias and the dominance of dystopias, as well as the different threats looming over us.

CONTEMPORÁNEA CONDEDUQUE embraces its mission as a public institution and aims to build a community with its neighbors in the Malasaña district, with all the residents of Madrid, and with its many visitors, with the intention of remaining a point of reference in Spain and Europe and a privileged bridge to Latin America and the rest of the world.

In a time of light and shadow, CONTEMPORÁNEA CONDEDUQUE invites its visitors to join the task of combating fear through culture, reflection, dialogue, tolerance, and critical thought.

A new edition of PROYECTOR is back with more news than ever!

The PROYECTOR Platform intended for Images of Movement gives voice to non-cinematic normative proposals; pieces that seek the relationship with the body, the scale and the space that houses them; pieces that need a viewer to get involved, to be present around the piece to be able to understand them in their entirety.

From September 6th to 17th, 2023, more than twenty spaces in the city of Madrid intersected, showing new languages and formats through some 100 pieces of expanded cinema, performance, video art, site-specific pieces, interactive pieces and unique works.

The collaborating venues are creating a cultural route giving visibility to both the most independent and the most consolidated spaces, going from the central areas to the outskirts neighborhoods of the capital.

We find proposals both curated by the PROYECTOR platform and by the galleries and museums themselves that are part of the OFF Tour. As always, our selection included works by invited artists and artists selected by an international public call whose jury was Rosell Meseguer, Guillermo G. Peydró and Carlos T. Mori. Likewise, we have collaborations, such as the usual Loops.Expanded, Miden, PLAY and Fonlad. All the pieces on display have been grouped into curatorships differentiated by their current themes. Two of the pieces most valued by the jury will be awarded the Hertzog Da Silva Prize.
