LAP <25 is a program within the framework of LAP at PROYECTOR Festival 2023, consisting of a four-day process-based workshop focused on the production of moving image works. It is aimed at students and emerging artists under 25 years old.

Structure of the workshop:

Day 1 (4–5 hours)
Participants attend a series of theoretical lectures led by three mediators at the beginning of the session. These talks provide a starting point, offering conceptual, editing, and installation references on themes such as art vs. cinema, body vs. screen, verticality, and other formats of the moving image.

Afterward, participants visit one of the festival’s collaborating venues, as well as other spaces proposed by the mediators to explore different aspects of their experimental process—for instance, architecture and scenography, body and performance, music and sound, etc.

The rest of the session is devoted to an open discussion between participants and mediators about their artistic concerns and what they would like to develop during the workshop.

Day 2 (4–5 hours)
Following their reflections at home, participants share their ideas and spend the session exploring and recording both indoors and outdoors. Mediators observe, guide, and support their creative processes. Participants are then encouraged to continue producing material at home and begin editing, in preparation for the following day.

Day 3 (4–5 hours)
The first part of the session focuses on editing and montage, in open conversation with the mediators. In the second part, participants explore projection and installation processes.

Day 4 (4–5 hours)
Participants finalize their installations during the first hour, present and walk through each other’s works in the following hours, and conclude with a collective discussion about the processes and overall experience.

Participant requirements:

Requirements for the work to be produced:

  • Works must include some kind of installation, performative, or experimental component with a physical/presential aspect.
  • Vertical format is encouraged but not mandatory.
