Marisa González es una de las artistas pioneras en la aplicación de las nuevas tecnologías de la reproducción y la comunicación en la creación artística.
Realiza la Carrera Superior de Piano en el Conservatorio de Bilbao, Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Facultad de BB AA. de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid 1971, Master en el Art Institute de Chicago en el Departamento de Sistemas Generativos 1973 y B.F.A. en la Corcoran School of Art, Washington D.C. 1976.
Toda su trayectoria artística está marcada por la relación sistemática con las tecnologías en continuo cambio de la sociedad contemporánea.
Desde sus primeros trabajos con fotocopiadoras a principios de los 70 posteriormente con faxes, y después con ordenadores y vídeo.
En la simbiosis entre el arte y la tecnología, y teniendo como método el ensamblaje de diferentes técnicas, Marisa González ha generado un nuevo lenguaje codificado por ella misma.
La reproducción de las imágenes, y del fragmento y su repetición o generación de la forma como valores emblemáticos de lo contemporáneo, están presente en todo su trabajo.
Nace en Bilbao en 1943, vive en Madrid. Realiza la carrera Superior de Piano en el Conservatorio de Bilbao. Se traslada a Madrid a estudiar Bellas Artes en el año 1967 se licenció en Bellas Artes por la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Madrid en el año 1971. Al finalizar sus estudios en Madrid se traslada a Chicago, EEUU a estudiar un Master en Fine Arts at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago hasta el año 1973 que regresa a España. En el año 1974 se traslada a Washington DC, estudia en la Corcoran School of Art donde se graduó con un BFA obteniendo el Premio fin de carrera en el año 1976.
Participa activamente en Sistemas Generativos en Chicago desde sus orígenes en 1971 con su fundadora Sonia Sheridan. Toda su carrera profesional la ha desarrollado en las artes visuales trabajando con las fotocopiadoras, la fotografía, el vídeo y el ordenador.
Ha realizado más de 60 exposiciones individuales y 150 colectivas, con obra en múltiples Museos y Colecciones.

Born in Bilbao in 1943, lives in Madrid. She Has a degree in Music from the Bilbao Conservatory. Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid. She Moved to US in 1971 to study a Master in Fine Arts at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. She graduated from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC.
She participated actively in Generative Systems in Chicago since its origins in 1971 with the founder the artist Sonia Sheridan. All of her professional career has been developed in the visual arts working with the tools of her time: photocopiers, photography, video and computer.
She has made more than 60 solo exhibitions and 150 group exhibitions. She has her work in multiple Museums and Collections.
