Abelardo Gil-Fournier
Artista e investigador. Su trabajo gira en torno a la hibridación entre lo real y lo sensible, abordada desde una perspectiva en la que percepción, imagen y producción material se funden en una práctica basada en la investigación sobre ordenaciones del territorio y crecimiento vegetal. Sus proyectos están concebidos como operaciones materiales propuestas para un espacio abierto entre arte, naturaleza y política.
Su trabajo has sido mostrado y discutido en instituciones y festivales como Transmediale (Berlin), Matadero Centro de Arte (Madrid), Goldsmiths University (Londres), Galeria Millenium (Lisboa), MUSAC (León), Medialab Prado (Madrid), Laboral Centro de Arte (Gijón) así como en los Centros Culturales de España en México, Nicaragua y El Salvador.
Realiza actualmente un doctorado en la Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, y es parte del grupo de investigación AMT Archaeologies of Media and Technology.
Abelardo Gil-Fournier is an artist and researcher whose work addresses the material connections between contemporary image and the living surfaces of the planet. His work is based on the elaboration of platforms -installations, devices and workshops- conceived as open mechanisms, where art, knowledge and politics intersect. His work has been shown and discussed in venues such as Transmediale, Matadero Center of Art, Galeria Millenium (Lisbon), MUSAC, Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, Medialab Prado, IKKM, Baluarte, Laboral Center of Art as well as in Cultural Centers of Spain in Mexico, Nicaragua and El Salvador.
He is currently a PhD researcher at FAMU Prague, part of AMT Archaeologies of Media and Technology and part-time instructor at the European University of Madrid. He holds a PhD from the Winchester School of Art.
