My name is Guillermo Grande Aguado, although my professional name is Gigi Ei. I was born in Burgos in 1993, where I currently reside. He studied the artistic Baccalaureate, School of Art and Superior Design of Burgos. He graduated in Fine Arts: University of Salamanca (2014-2016), University of Barcelona (2016-2017) and University of Castilla-La Mancha, Cuenca (2017-2018).

In my artistic practice I approach the absurd associated with the rules of everyday life, understood as a humor that is born from the simple reaction to the unknown or to what is not easily understood. From an interdisciplinary sense, my works build a conceptual framework and common action based on certain relationships and characteristics of artistic disciplines (photography, video, performance, drawing, painting…). My artistic practice arises from this convergence with the aim of questioning both the predetermined structures, which have been imposed on us from the artistic disciplines, and the social codes that determine behavior and the relationship with our environments.

The conceptual process that I follow is the observation of everyday life. I select whatever awakens my interest to introduce an alteration that leads me to move beyond its conventional logic. With this intro. as a working methodology, I strive to create a discourse based on a system of interlaced relations, in which the influence of my subjective vision is decisive, with the intention of transcending an original meaning, giving it a new trajectory, or evidencing what is real in the fact under analysis.

Discovering the unexpected in everyday life more than a task of unearthing is a position towards life from some modes of action; and using the real space as a place of legitimate action for my role as an artist through its reflection and its transformation. Assuming this attitude of looking at life to produce art, we will not be talking of solutions, but of behavior to produce works as faithful to their moment in time as to the situation that requires it.
