Wouter Verhoeven began as a painter at the age of 35, but during his Master’s studies in the Department of Arts at the Art Academy in Breda (Netherlands), he shifted his focus to three-dimensional work and video. He has been working in video and film ever since.

In recent years, his work has been presented in museums and galleries in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the United States, Japan, Mexico, and Peru, among others, including the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (Netherlands), S.M.A.K., Ghent (Belgium), Kunsthalle Bergen (Norway), and Marta Herford (Germany).
