Cristobal Ochoa
Artist
Caracas, Veneuela

Cristóbal Ochoa (Caracas, Venezuela, 1986) is an interdisciplinary artist who has lived and worked in Paris since 2017. Primarily trained as a sculptor, his work is broad and encompasses different media, from clay and acrylic to photography, video, installation, and performance, addressing unusual and often overlooked aspects of our daily lives and inviting the public to question preconceived ideas and social issues.

The common thread running through his varied work is a tactility that is as immediate as it is imminent upon approaching each piece. His artistic practices seek to question politics, social inequality, fashion, exile, and globalization, while interacting with the viewer’s perception, always drawing on the human element and, recently, on the perception of gender and bodily identity. In this latest project, the artist transforms his own body into a medium, redefining the boundaries between sexualization and the idealization of men and women.
