Banda Pan
Artist, Performing Arts, Visual Arts

Work group born in Madrid, formed by Alberto Chinchón and Miguel Palancares.

PAN appears as a group more than ten years ago, having as intention the concretion of artistic ideas arisen in the informal meetings at the artist’s house study, Eduardo Bonati. In the one of these meetings artist Jorge Cerezo introduce us. The aesthetic, social and political proposals arise in the table of the master Eduardoalmost settling on, at the beggining, by means of fast coincident individual artistic interventions only in the occupied space. It was about making, acting pointing to and consecrating the performative space formally. Later on, the performances, the interventions are extensively planned, the compared, discussed ideas and the unsolved doubts and uncertainties end up taking shape in team interventions, generating an aesthetic PAN unmistakable.

PAN is interested in everything, or everything what ontological and eschatologically interests the human being: the limitation of the language when it tries to express the art; the visual poetry, or more specifically the visual metaphor as an alternative to that limited language; the social movements and the cultural alterations; the involution and the exclusion of the individual in politics; the interested modification by politicians of unremovable rules in modified concepts; the power of the mass media, the violence applied for the domination; the excessive increase of alphabetized ignorants; the border segregation in groups of economic quality; the increase of the social inequality; the appearance and reinforcement of ideologies with neocon base and aesthetic; the art indicated, directed and clipped by sociologists, historians and economists.

From these premises, PAN projects, point out, constructs, poeticise, designs, inflates, prescribes, speaks ironically, colors, draws up and occupies.
