This work explores amnesia and the devastation which severe memory loss caused to the human mind. Through a series of abstract visual sequences, a mosaic of narrative fragments, a collage, live actions scenes are combined with hand-drawn and 3D animations to evoke the fragmented and disorderly memories of an amnesiac. This work by Sawa is based on the case of a friend who suffers from amnesia and who has no memory whatsoever of his previous life. The alternation of colour and then black & white, the positive and the negative, underscore the dreamlike cognitive insecurity.
