Un nuevo color

“Entre el encima y el debajo” is Daniela Libertad’s first solo exhibition at NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ. The show, made up of four large-format drawings, a video and two sculptures, raises various reflections that range from how Libertad constructs her images at the crossroads between the drawing and weaving until the possibility of meeting a new color.

Paper seems to be an important material within this constellation of pieces; we find it drawn, woven, overflowing, resisting and yielding to the relationship with two other materials: thread and metal.

Another important element in the exhibition is the presence of color, in the pieces «Dibujo tejido 4, 5, 6 and 7» (2021) – its use is evident, it is color that gives body to the shapes drawn and is what that «mixes» when weaving the drawings. In the case of the video “Un nuevo color” (2020), color exists as a memory and possibility, the narration of the artist on the encounter with a new
