The Boogie-Woogie Ghost

The Boogie-Woogie Ghost is a circular ghost movie filmed in a townhouse. The image is modified through the choreography of bodies that are permanently hidden, playing hide and seek with the camera, acting as ghosts. Space persistently mutates, as if non-human forces are driving it relentlessly. Objects change places, tremble or fall for no apparent reason: a baroque imitation painting, a blue porcelain swan, glassware, work planks, a cushion with a jungle motif, a photo that duplicates the corridor itself … They all dance each other slipping out of their contours. With that excited perception of the iteration of the image, the materialization of a non-linear time is insisted upon. Image montage works through the invisible during capture. In this way, montage becomes dance, or dance montage: a dance of ghosts.
