Murió la verdad
Fun Facts of Movie
The video Truth has died is part of a larger project, Lo que podemos esperar [What we can expect], which speaks of the consequences of the evil nature and stupidity of humans. All will come to an end sooner or later, but the project is not about just any apocalypse: the focus is on the disasters caused by humans, from war to climate change. All are connected: hunger, disease, poverty, violence, the destruction of the environment, the extinction of animal species… And all have their origin in the desire of power over others. There are some very evil people, authentic psychopaths who govern nations and run businesses large and small. Their most harmful instruments are violence and lies; their necessary allies are others, those who prefer not to know, to be executioners rather than victims.
Truth has died has a duration of 40 minutes and is composed of four parts: Among All, They Know Nothing, They Celebrate and Thus they end.
As these titles evidence, the work was inspired in Goya. More specifically, I have worked on the basis of the last of The Disasters of War etchings which, after all, contain Goya’s ideology and the ultimate motivation of the entire series .
Truth has died was made possible by a grant from the regional government of Madrid, Ayudas a la Creación de Artes Visuales de la Comunidad de Madrid.
