Freddy, oh Freddy (on his side)

«I was curious to design a specific work of an inexistent space, a room with no gravity.

In my own living room a 28 second fragment from the film Royal Wedding by Stanley Donen is projected on its side. Freddy, oh Freddy (on his side) is a kind of site-specific work for a place that does not exist. The absurd overturned projection questions space’s reality and its objects: the lamp, the armchair and whoever may be seated in it.

Fred Astaire keeps endlessly dancing on the wall to no music, he dreams of love, like a giant hamster trapped in a cage with no gravity. Us too.»
