28 nights and a poem
Fun Facts of Movie
On March 6, Saida MP Maarouf Saad was assassinated while leading a workers’ demonstration. The incident is known to have triggered the civil war in Lebanon. This excerpt from Twenty-Eight Nights and a Poem discusses the online archive in relation to the famous and well-known international pop productions that were dominant during the year 1975. Like most of TWENTY-EIGHT NIGHTS, the longest film, this excerpt plays with the recreation of melodies and, therefore, goes back and forth in time to pose intricate overlaps between personal memory and the most important historical events that occurred at that time in Lebanon. He relies on tablets, cameras, and screens and very often engages them in an orchestration of magical phenomena.
