The Art Jaén project came to life in 2007. That year, Ferias Jaén hosted a groundbreaking initiative for the province—one that would certainly make an impact in the years to follow. This was the celebration of Art Jaén 2007, the First Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art, which Ferias Jaén intended to establish as a unique and essential opportunity for exhibiting galleries, artists, buyers, and visitors alike to position the province of Jaén as a cultural reference point in contemporary art.

One of ART JAÉN’s commitments is to give space to less visible artistic disciplines that nonetheless contain some of the most groundbreaking and current contemporary languages. The encounter with art—both for the public and for creators—remains a personal experience that connects us with our surroundings through references shaped by our own experiences and those of the world around us. Within this framework, the impact of moving images and the engagement with more ephemeral manifestations, such as installation or performance, foster an intimate and personal connection that leaves a lasting impression on the viewer. The fair will work with artistic expressions that seek direct dialogue, provocation, exchange, and the generation of emotions without intermediaries.

PROYECTOR 2016

PROYECTOR/ FESTIVAL realizó su 9ª edición con su sede central en Madrid y muestras a lo largo del año en otras ciudades de España, Francia, Holanda, Italia, México, Perú, Portugal y Marruecos. PROYECTOR contó con la participación de artistas, comisarios y festivales de gran parte del mundo.

El Festival continúa con su intención de ser un espacio para el crecimiento y conocimiento del Videoarte, para ello realiza talleres y master class que posibilitan que los alumnos, con o sin conocimiento del medio, se adentren, profundicen en este tipo de creaciones con profesionales en activo. Para ello, los artistas invitados o seleccionados mediante convocatoria pública impartieron clases y hablaron de sus metodologías e investigaciones en relación a su obra.

La programación estaba compuesta por videoinstalaciones (monocanal, multicanal, interactivas), intervenciones, proyecciones en el espacio público, performances, talleres y conferencias.

Contó con la ayuda de la Comunidad de Madrid, el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte de España y su programa PICE – Ayuda a Visitantes, de Acción Cultural Española AC/E, Intermediæ – Matadero Madrid, Institut Français de España en Madrid. La asesoría corrió a cargo de Alain Servais.

En su 9ª edición PROYECTOR recibió más de 300 propuestas de artistas de 26 países, 4000 visitantes físicos y cerca de 60.000 virtuales. Además se mostró en 8 países, en 20 sedes que sumaban unos 6.000m2.
