What is it that makes us human? That 1.2% difference in our DNA that distinguishes us from chimpanzees? Maybe it’s our complex and hyper-connected brains, with their amazing energy efficiency. Maybe it’s the tendency to worry about the future, the awareness of death, or the sense of humor.

 Others will cite a simpler answer: creativity. Our imagination, ideas and the will to turn them into something tangible make us different. In short, without creation we are not human. As the anthropologist Agustín Fuentes explains, «the ability to move between‘ what is ’and‘ what could be ’has allowed us to go beyond being a successful species to become an exceptional species.»

 STILL HUMAN puts works from the SOLO Collection and invites artists into dialogue to reflect on how we relate to what is new. From painting, sculpture, sound art, new media or artificial intelligence, the tour explores how contemporary creation responds to an uncertain future horizon marked by connectivity and constant technological transformations. STILL HUMAN focuses on our ability to create, express ourselves, perceive emotions, observe and adapt to our surroundings armed with imagination. Thus, we venture that we are not only human, but we are more human than ever.
