Lin Zhe-Zhi (b. Kaohsiung, Taiwan) now resides and works in Taipei. He holds an MFA in New Media Art from the Taipei National University of the Arts.
Lin specializes in integrating video and spatial installation with visual technologies such as digital 3D and visual effects. This allows him to formulate his approaches and re-organize technological objects, historical fragments, and political scenarios on different levels, enabling him to reexamine the globalized relations between technologies, histories, nations, and wars. Additionally, he utilizes this approach to explore how reality is eroded by images to the extent of resulting in the severe disruption of people’s perception. Thus, he questions whether there is a route to escape this image-eroded world.
His work has been featured in several exhibitions and events, including the Ars Electronica Festival – Who owns the truth? (2023), Hong-gah Museum’s Futuristik AC–Beitou Summer Festival Screening Event: Taiwan Futuristik (2023), Taipei Digital Art Center’s 99% Truth (2021), and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei’s Hiding in the Islands (2017). In 2022, he presented his solo exhibition, Back to Ground, at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Art.
