Tareque Elsharquawy is a filmmaker, photographer, and musician based in Alexandria, Egypt. Tareque graduated from the High Film Institute in Cairo in 2011, where he studied film directing. His work includes the short fiction film What Was the Question? and the experimental video work The Psychoticles and The Holy Lands, of which the first part was commissioned for the exhibition “Submerged’ at the Contemporary Image Collective in Cairo, and the second and third parts currently in production with support from Mophradat (Brussels).
