About Antes Muerto Cine
Antes Muerto Cine is a collective based in Buenos Aires, dedicated to the production of documentary and experimental cinema. We met while occupying the public university, recording images and sounds to shake and discuss the reality we inhabit. Since then, we have sought for our practice to dialogue with past and future experiences to sensitively rescue the everyday and absurd beauty that drifts in chaos.
We like films that are alive, those made with care in intimacy or in the street, those invented by drawing conclusions along the way, those that play. Because we believe that films are also their mode of production, we understand friendship as a creative politics.
Our projects have been part of Mar del Plata International Film Fest, FIDMarseille, Ji.hlava IDFF, Márgenes Cine, Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse, New Horizons IFF, FestiFreak, Transcinema, DOCBSAS, Cosquín International Independent Film Festival, Uruguay International Film Festival, FIDOCS, among other festivals. They have received support for their realization from Berlinale Talents, Bienal de Arte Joven de Buenos Aires, BoliviaLAB, AcampaDOC, Labex, Migrant Film Festival, INCAA – Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales, Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Mecenazgo Cultural de Buenos Aires and Universidad Nacional de las Artes.
