Nadia Mounier (b.1988, Cairo) is a visual artist, mainly working with photography and video. Mounier graduated with a Bachelor degree in Applied Arts from Hulwan University, Cairo, in 2010. After completing her postgraduate studies at MASS Alexandria, an independent arts space in 2016, Mounier opened her first solo exhibition «I will defend myself», at Contemporary Image Collective (CIC), in Cairo. She is part of various collectives interested in the city and image production, amongst them “Cairo Bats.
She participated in a number of local and international exhibitions and festivals, e.g. The Mirror, Museum Reitberg, Zurich (2019), The Marrakech Biennale 6th (2016) and “Autonomy of Self” in London (2015).
