Mireia Martínez

Mireia Martínez (Oviedo, 1998) is an Asturian actress and performer who works at the intersection of video art, sound installations and durational pieces. Her artistic practice addresses the conceptual representation of the body, staging various forms of corporeality and reflecting on the social and philosophical issues that affect contemporary youth.

She initially trained at the Oviedo School of Art, followed by a degree in Textual Interpretation at the ESAD in the Principality of Asturias, specialising in Theatre Production at the Centre for Stage Directors and in Stage Space Management at the Centre for Performance Technology. She has also participated in laboratories and programmes for stage creation and contemporary dance at La Joven, Nave 73, CDN, La Abadía and AAEE.

She is currently part of the Hospital de Artistas collective at La Juan Gallery, a space dedicated to the performing arts. She combines her work as a theatre distributor and voice actress with her career as a performer, and is studying for a Master’s Degree in Cultural Project Management at La Fábrica, where she is participating as a scholarship holder.
