Born in Lisbon in 1970.
Attended the Gulbenkian Ballet School (1983/1986), completed an internship at Gulbenkian Ballet (1986/1987) and studied at Rosella Hightower Dance School in Cannes, after receiving a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (1987/1988).
Joined Gulbenkian Ballet (1988/1989) where she danced with choreographer Vasco Wellencamp (Exultate Jubilate, Keep going, Memórias de Edith Piaf), and at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble {National Choreographic Center of Grenoble} (1996/1997) she had the opportunity to perform with choreographer Jean-Claude Galotta (Presque Don Quichotte, Mammame, La Chamoule ou l’Art d’aimer, La Rue, Opera La Zorrita Astuta).
Danced in one-off projects with various choreographers, some of which include: Olga Roriz (Introdução ao princípio das coisas 1995), Bruno Cochat (Quebra Nozes 1999), Joanne Leighton (The Siege of Namur 2000) and Paulo Ribeiro (Comédia Off 2001). In November 2019, debuted Francisco Camacho’s new creation: Velh@s.
Performed in other projects (2011/2016), such as: Compota, A Ko.Zinha, Essere Area, AC/MC, in collaboration with other artists, namely Mario Gutiérrez Cru.
Alongside her dance career, she studied Graphic Design at IADE – Instituto de Artes Visuais, Design e Marketing {Institute of Fine Arts, Design and Marketing} (1989/1992) and took a Paiting Course, an Advanced Course in Visual Arts and an Individual Project at Ar.Co, where she was awarded the following scholarships: Mary Espirito Santo Salgado (2013/2014) and Madalena Lobo Antunes (2014/2015).
Ana has taken part in collective exhibitions between 2015 and 2018: Arco-bolseiros e finalistas at the Lisbon Museum, at the Júlio de Matos Hospital – pavilion 30 and at the Beato Creative Hub, Mostra’16 Lisboa at the Vasco da Gama Tower, Panorama at Le Consulat and 3 at Espaço A-Z.
A selection of her work is presented at the Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection and the Carmona e Costa Foundation Collection.
