Born 1982, in Al-Minya-Egypt. He graduated from the faculty of art education – Helwan University in 2004, and works as a painter and video artist. The mania about popular culture and mass media reached its peak in AHMED SABRY’s artwork, whether through using rotoscoping technique or painting or digital manipulation, SABRY knew well how to deconstruct taboos of sex, politics, power and iconophilia. Using humor, he reproduces moving or still images, to reveal areas of banality or cliché.The artist has held six solo exhibitions at the Mashrabia Gallery in Cairo, and group shows including the Ministry of culture’s salon of youth, and has exhibited at the Bamako Biennial in Mali, the Art fair in Beijing, China, The Slovakia film festival, and Ventenac-en-Minervois France.»
