Horor Vacui is an interactive installation that reflects on our Western society through contemporary forms of entertainment, leisure and play. In the words of the Korean philosopher Byung-Chul Han, in our current society work and leisure are losing their impermeable barrier and becoming intermingle: workspaces are streamlined and tasks are gamified, thus subjecting the game to production for greater performance. Horror Vacui is made up of a metal structure with two projection screens. The projected image varies depending on the audience present, showing some or other actions based on the audience that observes them. The video fragments consist of individual actions in which the interpreter mechanically and methodically performs certain movements related to popular games. It is through this ritualized repetition that our Homo Ludens assumes its place in the established social order.
