“Entre el encima y el debajo” marks Daniela Libertad’s debut solo exhibition at NF/NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ. The showcase comprises four large-format drawings, a video, and two sculptures, inviting contemplation on various themes ranging from Libertad’s approach to image-making at the intersection of drawing and weaving, to the exploration of encountering a new colour.

Paper emerges as a pivotal material within this collection of works, featuring depictions, weavings, overflowings, resistances, and harmonizations with two other mediums: thread and metal.

Colour plays a crucial role in the exhibition, notably evident in pieces such as “Dibujo tejido 4, 5, 6, and 7” (2021), where its utilization imbues the drawn shapes with substance and intermingles during the weaving process. In the video “Un nuevo color” (2020), colour exists as both memory and possibility. Through the artist’s narrative of encountering a new colour, we come to understand that its existence is confined to the realm of words.
