We Let the Palm Trees Die

The Dust Bowl is my portrait of a dystopian present and a not so promising future for the survival of the human species. In addition, I suggest a real possibility of collective salvation through the actual SELF’s individual transformation into a communal SELF. A metamorphosis which will have to be achieved individually by each person to become a being capable of building and belonging to a new balanced and sustainable framework of coexistence, the WE, and once reached that state of communal equilibrium, then just BE. This installation talks about memory and fight as essential factors for change. Memory of those who tried before us to build a fair and sustainable world by pursuing the impossible.
