Fun Facts of Movie

This installation uses interactivity in the opposite way to what is typically seen: instead of detecting movement to provoke change, the installation transforms itself through the immobile and continuous presence of the spectator, through their passive resistance.

The spectators are therefore invited to stand motionless in front of the projection. As they remain in their position, their persistence will begin to provoke changes in the images and sounds (perhaps also in the spectator himself?), in a process that will last for as long as each person is willing to endure: seconds, minutes, hours?

While the work presents something relatively poetic in itself, it would also be unfair not to recognise how much it owes its motivation to the role of passive resistance as a catalyst for social change: from the civil disobedience of Henry David Thoreau, Gandhi, Martin Luther King or the man in the tank at Tiananmen, to more recent manifestations such as the «still man» in Taksim Square in Istanbul.
