The video shows seven black Mercedes Benzes driving down Madrid’s Gran Vía, like a funeral procession. Each one has a huge head-down portrait on the roof. They are black and white, hyper-realistic but with a crude finish, almost resembling mug shots, of King Juan Carlos and the six Spanish presidents since the restoration of democracy. The procession walks to the sound of the Soviet Warsawiana, the workers’ song that was adopted as an anthem (A las barricadas) by the Spanish anarcho-syndicalists.
