L’Îlot 9

Laurène Barnel’s short film “L’Îlot 9” was produced in 2019 on the terraces and roofs of the art center Synesthésie ¬ MMAINTENANT, where a very small part of the inhabitants of the city of Saint-Denis live, overlooking the city center. These children follow and precede the artist’s camera in a sensitive and human dance, bringing our attention to the center of a set of details that are too often invisible. The artist invites us without injunction to lift the veil on the essentials.
