Impossible music #33 – rabia

Rabia is an interactive installation composed of two elements:

1) A silent video of a screaming person
2) An incoming sound analysis system.

Depending on the type and amount of incoming sound, the video fluctuates from a relaxed «neutral» situation to the maximum scream, gradually passing through all facial states of scream production. Through a sign with the text ‘scream!’, the viewer is invited to scream and, in this way, project his scream onto the state of the person «observing» in the video (the author of the installation).

Rabia is, at the same time, a reflection in two directions: firstly of the contained rage of the person watching the installation towards its visual equivalence in the installation itself; and secondly of the rage that emerges from the installation and is projected in the sonorous scream of the viewer.
