Refugio

Refuge is a video installation that explores mental spaces, memory, and its binary destructive-creative condition.

It delves into the workings of trauma and the traces it leaves behind, into what remains. It gives form to those lost and barely forgotten images that survive only as textures and icons of images that were once complete.

The experience is based on the projection of a 12-minute video piece inside a vehicle. Two people, whether they know each other or not, sit in the back seats and close the doors. In complete darkness, they share the experience together: a small cinema in an everyday, familiar and hostile place.
