Anecdotario Breve

For the project, Andrés chose to deconstruct 10 narcocorridos. During his research, he confirmed something he had already considered; the aspirational character of Mexican popular music, its power to structure the idea of Mexicanness and how relatively young this music (and, therefore, some particular visions of Mexicanness) really is. He realised, with a very simple syntactic exercise, that it was possible to open up gaps in the violent and macho narrative of narcocorridos and, in contrast, offer possibilities for other new narratives.
