The Artillery Barracks is a center for cultural and artistic creation and production belonging to the Department of Culture of the City Council of Murcia. Through open spaces and the development of cultural and creative activities, the Artillery Barracks allows for the exchange of opinions, reflections, and perspectives, creating enriching and motivating experiences for citizens. The two pavilions that make up the center, covering more than 5,400 square meters, provide multipurpose rooms available to the public, artists, and cultural creators, welcoming creative thinking in all its disciplines and artistic manifestations. The center's activities are oriented toward production and debate, adapting to different formats and times to respond to diverse interests and possibilities for participation.

The center promotes research, development, and innovation, coordinating projects in collaboration with universities, technology centers, and private companies, with the goal of jointly managing and promoting culture.

As we strive to remain a center at the forefront of current trends and needs in the cultural field, we at the Artillery Barracks understand the importance of good connectivity, something we incorporate into our strategy, which revolves around a cross-cutting digital culture and training in this field. To this end, we strive to maintain a solid offering in digital and audiovisual research, training, and creation.

Ultimately, at the Artillery Barracks, we aim to take on the challenge of creating the ideal conditions to promote both the production and dissemination of contemporary creation and culture, rethinking the role of art in everyday life, and experimenting with other ways of relating to the artistic community and its integration into society.

Una tarde dedicada al diálogo entre arte, territorio y mirada intercultural entre Taiwán y Murcia.

A las 19:00h, comenzará una visita mediada a cargo de Laura Clemente, galerista murciana y especialista en arte asiático contemporáneo, que ofrecerá una lectura transversal de la exposición desde la perspectiva del intercambio cultural y las tensiones entre tradición y contemporaneidad en el arte del Este de Asia.

A las 19:30h, tendrá lugar la performance de Dómix Garrido, la última de las acciones que lleva haciendo el artista murciano en homenaje al performer taiwanés Tehching Hsieh, que utilizaba el paso del tiempo y la constancia como herramienta creativa. Seguida de un debate abierto con uno de los comisarios de la muestra Ecos de Taiwán: Mario Gutiérrez Cru y con Pedro Alberto Cruz, artista y gestor especializado en arte de acción. En el que se abordarán los vínculos entre performance, identidad y el tiempo.

La jornada concluirá a las 20:30h con un cóctel de cierre, gracias a la colaboración de la Embajada de Taiwán y la Oficina Económica y Cultural de Taipéi, un encuentro informal para prolongar la conversación en un ambiente distendido.
