Ibarra is a visual artist born in Madrid in 1973.

She studied Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and as a final year project, she made The Uncertain Existence, her second fiction short film of hers and the one that is still considered by her as her best work.

At the beginning of 2009, Verónica takes a Bolex camera and ventures into the Singlese forests to shoot visual poems of romantic landscapes in black and white and turn them into expressions of interior landscapes.

Also, she sets up a small film lab and begins developing the film herself. The culmination of those experiments is Anatidae, 2012, a non-narrative minimalist poem whose images of waves crashing on cliffs and ducks swimming in a lake aspire to bring the viewer to a Zen-inspired serenity. Anatidae has been nominated for the Underwire Film London Festival 2012.
