Berlin-based artist Tara Mahaptra was born in 1970 in Berlin, and studied Anthropology in Paris at the Université Paris Vlll and Film Theory at the Freie Universitat (FU) in Berlin. In 1994, she studied Fine Arts at the University of Arts (UdK) in Berlin, completing her studies in 2001 as «Meisterschülerin» of Prof. Katharina Sieverding (Master of Fine Arts)
