Stefania Tatiana Smolkina is a visual artist born in 1988, Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Lives and works in Leipzig, Germany. Her textile objects, films and audio-visual installations explore the topography of remembering, which hints at the gaps in history, as well as alienation, position and belonging in a society.
2013 – 2019: Media Art at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig.
2007 – 2013: Art Textiles at the State Art and Industry Academy in Saint Petersburg.
2016: Iceland Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik, with a focus on film and sound.
2015 – 2018: Scholarship of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for foreign students.
