Mauricio Sáenz (b. 1977, Matamoros, Mexico) is a visual artist and filmmaker with a practice between the experimental and the documentary.

Meteorite, his debut feature, is a short film that opens a dialogue of coexistence between life and death, fusing the representation of a natural phenomenon with an ancient rite through an altered reality.

He obtained a master’s degree in artistic production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain and has exhibited his audiovisual work at festivals such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and European Media Art Festival in Germany where he was also nominated. for the Dialogpreis of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
