Artist and activist

Mar Núñez (Madrid, 1965) has been carrying out her artistic work since the 1990s in the public and political art field, combining a more personal reflection with collaborative works.

She has given several talks and participated in round tables on collaborative art, art and politics, art and the city and cultural policies.

Since the end of the decade he has also been involved in various social movements based in Madrid. He actively participated in La Red de Lavapiés, a citizen’s network of special experimental relevance in the hybridisation of art and politics, which operated from 1997 to 2007 (approx.).

She graduated in Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid (1988) and completed the PhD programme in Contemporary Art at the Fine Arts Faculty of Cuenca, University of Castilla La Mancha (1994-96).
