Mourad Kourbaj (born in Cambridge, 1997) is an artist who uses his surroundings as inspiration for many of his projects. His interest in community and how to represent it as an artist stems from his upbringing in a Syrian/Argentine family in the UK—growing up across three cultures, each with its own distinct identity. His use of film informs his work with sound, sculpture, and performance, combining them to create visual pieces without being limited to the moving image.
