Presidential Speeches (CHÁVEZ)

Presidential Speeches (Chávez) uses analysis software developed by Merhi to process and visualize all presidential speeches delivered by Hugo Chávez Frías, former president of Venezuela. The words, in red, scroll from left to right along twenty dynamic lines. Depending on the frequency with which these words were repeated by Chávez, the words increase in size or disappear from the screen, giving rise to a constantly evolving speech. The result emulates a Dadaist poem that reveals Chávez’s personality and his impact on the past and current political situation in Venezuela.
