El Ultimo Grito is the creative partnership of Rosario Hurtado & Roberto Feo. Founded in 1997, they define their practice as “the thing we do in order to understand the world”. Their practice and academic focus gravitates around their research interest into the role of design in the production of fictions.

The work of El Ultimo Grito spans multiple disciplines, contexts and media, including installations, objects, films, performances and publications, as well as curatorial, editorial and academic projects. Regardless of format, El Ultimo Grito uses its practice to develop inventively analytic (and at times playful) representations of existing systems —material, graphic, linguistic, philosophical, technological— on which our socio-political and cultural environment is structured.

El Ultimo Grito sees their academic activity as an extension of their public work, bringing their experimental approach into this realm. Apart from their individual appointments, Rosario and Roberto have been exploring the production space of cinema as narrative design installations through the project Physical Editing at HEAD_Geneve, Goldsmiths University of London and Elisava in Barcelona, with comic form publications accompanying them.
