I travel to know my geography is a project in process in which I reflect on the individual existence from a series of elements that make up my domestic environment. A toy car travels, with a camera on its back, my intimate universe, magnifying it in turn on a screen. A self-portrait through my everyday objects. A work that transits a feeling of melancholy caused by the absence of what has already taken place. «If we consider that we do not have anything beyond our sensations, it is these that we should explore as if they were unknown places».
The sociologist Michel de Certeau describes in The invention of the everyday: «The everyday is invented with a thousand ways to poach.» Daily creativity against the power struggles exercised in our most familiar environment.
The remains of a dinner, a table, a cigarette butt, a lamp, a blanket, a toy with wheels … These are some of the objects that make up my geography, many of them have always accompanied me and with them I have recreated my memory and past trips .
