Sin Título (Reflejos)

This work was created based on several videos created in 2015/16. Our bodies remain still along shore landscapes, like a Memento Mori. In 2015, at the Fundación Ecarta (Brazil), we showed for the first time “Películas de Ahogamiento” in the form of video installations. Through the exhibition, the drowning of the Syrian-Kurdish child occured, whose body appeared in Bodrum beach (Turkey) while he was trying to emigrate. That image moves us all. Ever since, bodies haven’t ceased to arrive. We believe these images get resignified while watched, and now we always relate them to all the dead immigrants of the European shores. For this festival, we would like to show a video installation consisting of three screens in a room with water on the floor, which makes the images get reflected on the surface.
