El capítulo del mar (NaCl+H2O)

This work inaugurates a broader project of artistic creation entitled «Natural Capital» that investigates the territory by analyzing the problems and synergies that arise between the different landscapes and the industries which exploit them. The project proposes a chapter with raw materials as the axis of critical reflection towards the western concept of nature. «The chapter of the sea (NaCl + H2O)» focuses on the paradigmatic industrial landscape of the salt flats where salt is obtained from the exploitation of seawater. Focusing on how, thanks to the mining extractive activity of the salt industries, this territory becomes a rich and peculiar protected landscape classified today as a Natural Park by different environmental protection administrations. The work is plastically formalized through a multidisciplinary artistic installation, composed of an audiovisual projection, soundtrack, photographs, drawings, files and raw materials.
